A history of hip pain and cortisone injections

28 year old female with a 2 year history of right hip pain presents to the clinic a week before she is due to have cortisone injected into the hip to try and give her relief though no diagnosis has been made.

After a careful history our Osteopath discovered that due to a mis-diagnosed fracture of the right ankle 3 years previous and no rehab, the ankle itself was not moving which therefore locked her superior tib/fib joint up near her knee leading to tension throughout her hamstring pulling on her pelvis and altering her gait pattern leading to hip pain.

Instant relief was found from mobilising the ankle and balancing the pelvis. No cortisone was required.
